SurveyMonkey Findings | Conclusions Drawn

My responses suggest that 3D movies are falling in terms of attracting the audience. With animation movies being more popular with younger audiences wanting to see a 3D movie, my respondents were teenagers-adults and so the prices may put them off or the original footage is more exciting for fans.

I've also noticed that 100% of my respondents use the internet (including using my questionnaire away from the PC), suggesting that the Marketing and Distribution stage of the Film Cycle are crucial in drawing in the audience through social and digital media (trailers, promotions and exchanging the film through online sources such as www.Netlix.com). The first week of cinema showcasing is crucial in spreading awareness and "hype" for a new movie, so word-of-mouth is also important (33%)

From my findings, there isn't a particular day that cinema-goers visit the cinema. On the other hand, weekends are favoured over weekdays (which could be as a result of work/school). This is important in Producers in releasing more showcases during the weekend or on Friday nights- which is also a very popular timetable. Important in Exhibition

Cinema is still very popular, with 90% preferring the experience of going out with a large screen, dimmed lights and advancing sound FX (surround sound), which many do not acquire in the comfort of their own homes. This is also evident in the fact that many fans rush to see the movie when it's first released rather than waiting for the DVD/Sky Movies to showcase it after its premiere.
